MOOC's

I consider myself a lifelong learner. The books in my office library are some of my most treasured possessions. I know that's silly since so much information is now available online. But I do love my books and many of them are worn at the corners, spines broken, and pages coffee stained. In another post, I'll feature some of my favorite books.

HGTV is my go to for easy television entertainment. The possibilities and creativity (as well as the disturbing amount of clutter and stuff many of the featured house hunters have) inspire me to re-imagine my own home on a regular basis. With this in mind, particularly during this time of social distancing and staying home, I thought, "why not learn about architecture??". I Googled something to the effect of "free online course architecture". I found a wealth of options and ended up enrolling for free in a Havardx course. There are options to receive a certificate of completion with a nominal cost and you can also audit a course for free. So I'm listening to and learning from a Harvard professor about architecture from the comfort of my home. How cool is that??

I encourage you to challenge yourself and learn something new during this time. Maybe it's a new recipe or exercise routine, perhaps it's experimenting with a new crop of flowers or vegetables in your garden (it is Spring!) or maybe it's something intellectually challenging such as the influence Kant had on architecture.
