In this 90 minute, interactive presentation designed for parents and caregivers of children, tools for communication and techniques for managing conflict will be offered. An outcome goal includes building social-emotional capacity for our children and building our own Emotional Intelligence as parents and caregivers.

Content includes:

What is Elder Mediation and How Can This Help My Family?

The process of mediation is a continuum that begins with at least two parties in conflict meeting face to face and ends with a resolution of the dispute. As our parents become elders, their need for care changes. Families are tasked with making financial and health decisions, living arrangements, and decision making. Communication issues, lack of trust and role responsibilities contribute to conflict during this transitional period. Elder Mediation supports the family, attorneys, and elders navigate the difficult conversations that is elder-centric.

In this 30 minute presentation, learn about the process of mediation and how the mediator works with the family to address the needs of both the elder and the family members involved.
